Free trade zones were established to promote
exports, attract foreign investments, reduce
import costs and create job opportunities.
In line with these national objectives, Bank
Saderat Iran established an independent
supervisory division in 2004 to operate and
coordinate branches in free zones. This
division reports to the International Affair
Department of BSI.
The FTZ Supervisory Division operates 13
branches and 10 sub- branches in the free
trade zones of Kish, Qeshm, Chabahar and
Jolfa. The operation of another 6 branches
in Anzali (Bandar - Anzali) and Arvand (Khoramshahr
- Abadan) free zones will be transferred to
this division in the first half of next
year. All branches in the free zones are
connected to the SEPEHR system and equipped
with ATM machines.
